The Dead Sea is the saltiest body of water in the world, with a salt concentration that is ten times higher than ocean water (the salt concentration in the Dead Sea is 33% whereas ocean water is only at 3%). Not only does the Dead Sea have the highest concentration of salt in the world, but Dead Sea salt is also unlike any other salt in the world. Dead Sea salt includes a much higher concentration of minerals than is found in other salts, including minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium chlorides and bromides.
People have been coming from all over the world since ancient times to bathe in the Dead Sea waters and receive treatment for skin disorders.
